Hemorrhoids – How long to suffer?
Many people suffer from hemorrhoids and it is important to treat them as soon as they appear, in order ease pain, avoid surgery and other possible complications. Hemorrhoids are abnormally enlarged veins inside or outside the anus, caused due to persistent increase in venous pressure. These veins bulge out and cause extreme discomfort and pain. If left untreated these can rupture and lead to excessive bleeding.
Hemorrhoids are classified into internal, external, and prolapsed, based on their nature and location. Most of the time internal hemorrhoids show no symptoms at all. People get to know of it only when they see signs of blood in their stool. External hemorrhoids are easily detected because of the presence of a bulge that is itchy and painful. Prolapsed hemorrhoid refers to a condition in which the internal hemorrhoid gets inflamed and extends outside of the anus.
Hemorrhoids can be caused due to various factors, the most common one being constipation or hard feces due to dehydration. Other factors include lack of Vitamin E, overweight, high blood pressure, and diarrhea.
It is easy to cure hemorrhoids once its cause is identified. Making a few lifestyle changes, drinking plenty of water, consuming nutritious food accompanied by vitamin supplements, regular physical activities etc. can prove beneficial in the long run.
